SLV Rod & Gun Club holds a year-long fishing contest among its members.  There are four categories in which fish may be entered.  At this point, it is most likely NO ONE is going to catch a larger catfish than Don Hain did on April 13.  After 1 hour and 20 minutes of fighting the fish, Don hauled in a 63.5 lb., 41” catfish!! Rod & Gun Club holds Bowling Pin Shoot

by LENNY AZZARANO THE SLV ROD & Gun Club held its first of many competitive Bowling Pin Shoots on Saturday, June 12th. Twelve competitors and spectators braved the heat to compete and watch. The object of the competition is to knock 5 bowling pins from the table with 7 shots. Pins that are hit but remain on the table do not count as hits. THE SAVANNAH LAKES Rod and Gun Club recently held one of the members favorite sport shooting events called “Pins & Plates.” The event was held Saturday morning from 9:00 until 12:00.   The “Pins” are actually used bowling pins that the shooters try to knock down.  The “Plates” are small clay disks, generally used for skeet shooting, measuring 4.33 inches in diameter, which they try to break.  We set up ten targets at varying lengths,...
