SLV Residents Completed 2,283 Miles in 2025 Walk Challenge by JIM SNYDER ON FEBRUARY 12, several of the SLV and area residents gathered to celebrate the 2025 Walk Challenge plus. The event involved walking: all the streets in SLV; four local trails; and the two golf course paths within one year. Kayak Trip Down the Augusta Canal

EIGHTEEN MEMBERS OF the Savannah Lakes Outdoor Adventure Club had the pleasure of kayaking down the Augusta Canal on May 13, 2021.   We started with a picnic at the Savannah River Rapids Park.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day as it was sunny and warm.  We also had a gentle breeze as we paddled and floated along enjoying the beautiful vegetation of the canal and the wildlife.  There were so many turtles sunning themselves along the way, so they must have...

by CYNTHI WEBSTER CAN YOU BELIEVE it?  We already have one resident cross the finish line of the Outdoor Adventure Club's 2021 Challenge to walk ALL the streets of the entire Savannah Lakes Village.  That is---completed, finished, done, all over with in about 26 days.  Such a time frame would leave most of us exhausted, but Peggy Heehn says she is an avid walker. OAC Hike at Richard B. Russell State Park

by LINDA McCLINTOCK ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20th, over 30 SLV Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC) members came together for a hike at the Richard B. Russell State Park in Georgia.  We hiked on several of the trails at the park.  Everyone had a chance to hike the trails they wanted, with the distances ranging from 4 to 5 miles.  We enjoyed having the chance to meet some of the new residents of SLV at this event.  After our hike, several of us enjoyed a picnic lunch by the water.&...
