EIGHTEEN MEMBERS OF the Savannah Lakes Outdoor Adventure Club had the pleasure of kayaking down the Augusta Canal on May 13, 2021. 
 We started with a picnic at the Savannah River Rapids Park.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect day as it was sunny and warm.  We also had a gentle breeze as we paddled and floated along enjoying the beautiful vegetation of the canal and the wildlife.  There were so many turtles sunning themselves along the way, so they must have enjoyed their day also.  The turtles did give us the feeling that we were invading their privacy.  I explained to them that we were there only to visit.  We had such a great day.
