LADIES FROM ALL over McCormick, representing numerous faiths, gathered at the Lutheran Church By The Lake on 8/14/21 to sew dresses for girls in Zimbabwe. Many ladies, and even two grandchildren, participated in the sewing event. The young girls enjoyed themselves and were proud of their dresses. Several others participated by making dresses at home. We thank each and every one of you for your generous hearts and willing participation. This project is an off-shoot of World Day Of Prayer, Zimbabwe that was held March 6, 2020 at the McCormick United Methodist Church. Cathy Osterman and Linda Crochet organized the sewing event and made kits for attendees to sew. We thank Friends of PKZ for allowing us to participate in the “Dress A Girl Around the World Project” which gives girls a sense of dignity, beauty, and worth, once dress at a time. These dresses and more will be delivered to Friends of PKZ, in New Hampshire for inclusion into their shipping container that is destined for Zimbabwe. A special thank you goes to Connie Littlefield, our contact with PKZ in Zimbabwe. Connie often sends updates to thank us and let us know that our donations are appreciated.
