THE SAVANNAH LAKES Village (SLV) Men’s 9 hole Social Golf Group presented the Stewardship Award to George Webb, on January 12, 2021, for his 8 years of leadership as Chairman of the group.  George was the original Chairman of the Steering Committee and has been the leader of the group since 2012.

The Men’s 9 hole Social Golf Group has been in existence since the early 2000’s and had operated as an independent organization with the goal of “Social Golf and enjoyment of comradery after the game.” George joined the group in 2012 and was instrumental in getting the Savannah Lakes Village approval as a Sanctioned group. We were sanctioned in 2012. The group continues the basic concept of Social Golf with socializing after the round.

George has been our Chairman of the Steering Committee since our inception, and has enjoyed the growth of membership from the 50’s to our current membership of 114.  

With the rotation of officers of the Steering Committee as defined by our By-Laws, George retired from this position and our new Chairman, Rob Clancy, has taken over.

The SLV Men’s 9 hole Golf Group plays 9 holes of golf at Monticello Golf Course on Wednesdays, and 9 holes at Tara Golf Course on Fridays.  Our group will generally have from 44 to 56 players each play day, followed by socializing and refreshments at the Tara and Monticello Clubs after our rounds.

The SLV Men’s 9 hole golf group has supported both SLV golf courses with donations toward; clocks for starting times, golf bag drop offs, bushes and shrubs for landscaping, and other needs as identified by the SLV Golf Club Management.  All SLV members are welcome to join our group.
