ON THURSDAY, MAY 21, fourteen members of the Savannah Lakes Outdoor Adventure Club kayaked down the Augusta Canal in Evens, Georgia.  What a glorious day.  The weather was perfect – sunny and warm with a gentle breeze.

We started with a picnic lunch at the Savannah Rapids Park and this is where the paddle started also.  We enjoyed the wildlife and the beautiful shores paddling 5 ½ miles to Lake Olmstead where we had to work a little harder for the last ½ mile to the pick-up spot.  It was a great opportunity to visit and make new friends.  The kayak company then transported our kayaks and us back to the park.
